Water Damage Removal from Toilet Supply Line in Rancho Santa Margarita

12/4/2015 (Permalink)

Toilets are tricky appliances. They seem to be some of our biggest trouble-makers as well. When toilets leak, it tends to either be a supply line, in which case the flooding can be severe, or a sewage backup, in which case we go in with our hazmat suits. Either way, a broken toilet means almost certain destruction for the bathroom. Make sure to keep your toilet checked and maintained so you never have to deal with water damage but, if you do end up with water damage, be sure to call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. We can certainly help with any water or sewage damage needs you may have.

A Rancho Santa Margarita homeowner recently contacted us with some toilet supply line issues. He had noticed that the flooring in his bathroom was always wet and couldn’t figure out why, so he called in a plumber. The plumber diagnosed the problem as a supply line leak and recommended that the homeowner call a restoration company to get the water damage professionally removed. The homeowner called SERVPRO’s main line, who then forwarded him to us at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, as we were closest.

We immediately sent our Project Manager, Jonathan Arcila, to the home to get the project started. He performed an inspection that showed the leak had affected more than just the bathroom: the hallway and storage area beneath the stairs had also been included in the water damage. He knew SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea would be the best company for the job.

He called our Crew Chief, Edwin Ramirez, to the home to lead our technicians in the perfect removal. The technicians arrived promptly and got to work. We ended up removing the drywall behind the toilet first, as it was completely saturated. From there, we sanded down the studs to ensure there would be no mold growth as a result of the water damage. Everything else was dried in place.

Our work was met with satisfaction from the homeowner! He promised to call again with any other water damage needs that may arise.
