Janet’s life was hard enough as a young single mom of two little girls.  Holding down a full-time job, committed to providing her girls with as many opportunities to participate in school activities and youth sports leagues and managing the daily work of running a home was a life she was just about succeeding in, but she sure didn’t need any unpleasant surprises.

Unfortunately, a very unpleasant surprise was EXACTLY what she got one day after work and picking up the girls from school.  She’d left her house in Brea that morning with a load of laundry running in the laundry room and – oh no! – the supply line to the washer had burst.  With no one at home to shut off the water, she was now standing in more than two inches of water.

Ally, one of our administrators took the incoming call and Karina dispatched the water damage restoration scase to Felipe who arrived within an hour of the call.  He was prepared for whatever he’d encounter.  Clean, professional and courteous, Felipe rang the doorbell and was received by a disheveled, verging on panic Janet. Her proverbial camel had just encountered its last straw and the back was breaking.

Felipe’s first order of business was to establish his water damage restoration knowledge, display confidence, and assume control of the situation.  Being the kind, patient professional that he is, Felipe was pleased to see Janet’s tension gradually receding.  Next, Felipe assessed the damage and began preparing an estimate.  Water had run a long time and almost the entire house was wet.  There was water in the kitchen, hallway, both bedrooms, and both bathrooms.

Felipe even helped Janet phone a claim into AAA, her insurance carrier.  SERVPRO Yorba Linda/ Brea has preferred vendor status with AAA and Janet’s claim was accepted immediately and SERVPRO was able to begin the restoration process immediately.  Using five different air blowers and dehumidifiers, we were able to complete the work within five days.   We treat every customer’s home as if it were our own.  We carefully lay down floor runners, cover furniture with tarps, and as necessary will carefully move other household items to safer locations, outside the flow of our work.
