Broken Water Supply Line Means Water Damage in Yorba Linda

12/2/2015 (Permalink)

Supply lines are the main pipes that carry water to whatever appliance it’s serving. Usually found in kitchens, laundry rooms and bathrooms, when a supply line leaks it generally means a flood in at least that room, though it often spreads. When it comes to managing your supply lines, try to get them inspected at least once a year. Your plumber might be able to detect a leak early before the pipe completely bursts and ruins your home. However, if that happens, you always have SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea on your side!

One homeowner in Yorba Linda gave us a call recently after a laundry room supply line burst and started flooding her home. She had called her plumber, who instructed her on how to turn off her water, but suggested she call a restoration company to get the water damage removed before it permanently damaged her home. He recommended SERVPRO. She called our main line, who then sent her over to us at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

We received the call and immediately sent our Project Manager, Uriel Valencia, to the home. His inspection showed that the laundry room damage had spread to the hallway, bedroom and bathroom. He knew the damage was something that SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea could handle, so he called our Crew Chief, Jose Melgar, to the scene to lead our expert team of technicians in the removal.

Our technicians arrived at the scene and promptly started their work. We removed carpet and padding from the bedroom, but thankfully we were able to save all the drywall! We set up final drying equipment to prevent mold from growing and called it a day.

The homeowner was so happy with our work. She knew her quick call and our quick response kept the damage from getting worse! She knew she would be calling us again if she experienced any more water damage.
