Brea Homeowner Needs Second Water Damage Repair

9/25/2015 (Permalink)

As if one water damage repair isn’t enough, it’s twice as complicated when there are two separate damages in the home. It can feel overwhelming and like your home is falling apart. Thankfully, SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea is here to help. In fact, it is our job to make sure your home is completely safe and free of water damage in all aspects. That’s why, when we perform our inspections, we make sure to take note of any possible water damage in the home, not just where the main problem is.

We recently received a call from a Brea homeowner who had a concern about some water damage they found in their kitchen. Their initial call had been to their insurance agent, who had given her our name. We made our way to the home as soon as we received the call, and during our initial inspection, our Project Manager, Uriel Valencia, found a second water damaged area from a roof leak.

At SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, we treat each water damage episode as its own so it gets 100% of our attention. We completed the kitchen leak first, and then looked to the roof leak. Southern California had been dealing with some heavy rains recently and the roof wasn’t able to handle it. A few little leaks opened up and caused some damage in the two upstairs bedrooms as well as the laundry room.

As soon as our technicians got to the scene, we got to work. We went into the bedrooms and laundry rooms to see how we would be able to save everything. We set up some initial drying equipment to see what was dried in place. After a little bit, it was clear they would not dry as they were. We removed both the carpet and padding and were able to dry them as soon as they were out of place so they could be replaced later. We were also able to save the carpet and tile in the laundry room.

The homeowners were so happy with our work. Not only did we handle both water damage repairs separately and quickly, but each got our full attention. They were so pleased we were able to save so much of the upstairs and told us they would be calling again if necessary.
