SERVPRO Saves Home in Two Hours

8/13/2015 (Permalink)

Broken pipes can cause major problems for homeowners, especially when they’re in an upstairs location in the home like an attic. Water can easily soak through to the bottom floors of the house and affect a wide swath of rooms below. SERVPRO is well aware of this and is always ready to assist with major pipe bursts as quickly as possible in order to minimize the damage.

Recently SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea helped a customer with this exact problem in the city of Rosemead. The homeowner was dealing with a broken pipe in the attic that another HVAC company had broken while working on the home. The broken pipe resulted in a lot of water soaking through the ceiling, affecting the client’s bar, hallway, HVAC room and family room. After seeing all of this water damage, the Rosemead homeowner called SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. SERVPRO sent out Project Manager, Uriel Valencia, to help assess the damage and see whether SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea could help. After realizing that we could, a team of SERVPRO technicians was sent out to start restoring the Rosemead home.

First, all of the furniture in the bar, hallway, HVAC room and family room was removed, as was as any other contents stored in each respective room, in order for them to be dried effectively. Luckily, everything was able to be dried in place by our technicians. A containment area was also set up for a maximum drying effect to deal with the damage.

Due to the quick response of SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea and the HVAC company, we were able to get in and out of the Rosemead home within two hours. The homeowner was incredibly grateful for our quick work and promised to become a repeat customer should he suffer any more water damage in the future.
