SERVPRO Changes Mind of Yorba Linda Homeowner

4/7/2015 (Permalink)

Insurance is an important part of the water damage removal process. If an insurance company does not want to cooperate, it can lead to high costs for the homeowner. But water damage is no joke, and regardless of cost, it needs to be addressed before mold starts growing and causes even more damage.

For one Yorba Linda homeowner, he was having trouble getting in touch with his insurance company. He has a slab leak that was affecting his kitchen, dining room, dining room closet, and hallway closet, so it was not a small job. Knowing it was something that needed to be fixed, he did a quick Google search for the best water damage companies around, and gave SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea a call.

During his call, he expressed his inability to get in touch with his insurance agent and told us he did not want to start removal immediately, but wanted an inspection. We sent out our Production Manager, Cesar Arcila to the home to scope out the water damage. The homeowner was so impressed with Cesar and how he conducted and presented himself; he insisted we start as soon as possible!

Though he wanted to wait for his insurance’s approval, he trusted so much that we would do the best job that he decided to just start the project. With his trust, we went out the next day to start the job. We had to remove some laminate from the dining room, but were able to save all the drywall. Using air movers and dehumidifiers to help, we drilled some holes in the walls for the best ventilation, but no actual demolition was performed on the walls.

The homeowner was so pleased with the work of SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea that he gave us 10s all across the board when he filled out our survey. He knew he would call again if he needed water damage removal in the future!
