Mobile Home in Santa Ana Needs Complete Crawlspace Removal

3/26/2015 (Permalink)

They might be small, but their damage is mighty: toilets are often the cause of flood damage in the homes we visit. The potential for a leak, whether outside on the floor or within the walls, is incredibly high. And if the leak is interior, you might not even notice it until it is way too late.

For one Santa Ana homeowner, his toilet had been consistently leaking down into the crawlspace beneath his mobile home. When he noticed, the damage had already been done. The insulation was soaked, and it was putting his home and family in danger.

He called his insurance company for instructions as to how to handle it, and they sent him to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to make sure he received the best quality services. Though he noticed the leak and got the referral on Thursday, he took a few days to think over the importance of the situation and didn’t call us until after hours on Saturday.

The homeowner was Spanish-speaking only, but that was not a problem for our talented team. We sent out Production Manager, Chris Trejo, to communicate with the client and start the drying and removal process. Chris explained in great detail what would be happening to the crawlspace and every step of our tried-and-true process.

We set up a couple dehumidifiers to keep the problem from getting any worse, and told the homeowner we would be back on Monday to start the work. When we returned, we got to work on removing all of the insulation in the crawlspace. Since the crawlspace was small in height, we brought in our special-sized equipment so we could ensure the efficiency of the machines.

With all the insulation removed and the crawlspace free of any threat of mold, we were able to leave a satisfied customer. He was so grateful for our great, Spanish-speaking communication and our excellent work.
