Clogged Gutters Lead to a Foundation Leak in a Yorba Linda, CA Home

A homeowner in Yorba Linda, CA had never before cleaned out her rain gutters. Over time, they became clogged with leaves, dirt, and other debris. When it began to rain one day, she noticed that the water was pouring over the side of the gutter, but she didn’t think anything of it. The water, however, was spilling out around her foundation and leaking into it. A little while later, she noticed water bubbling up in her carpet and was not sure where the water was coming from. She thought maybe a pipe had burst, so she called a plumber out to her home. 

The plumber determined that the pipes were fine, but water was coming in through her foundation. The water had come from her gutters and pooled in the foundation and had nowhere else to go but up through the carpet. The water damage that was caused was out of her league, and she knew she needed to look through the water damage companies in the area to find the best one for the job. After searching, she called SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to come and take a look at the water damage. 

We sent our Production Manager, Chris Trejo, to the property to look at the damage. After a thorough investigation, he determined it was well within our scope of expertise. He sent our Crew Chief, Waldo Roman, to the home to begin the work. He arrived with a team of experts and got to work right away. 

The team was able to work quickly and efficiently to get rid of all of the water damage in the home. They first removed the damaged areas and then set up fans to completely dry out the area. This would reduce the risk for mold to begin growing in the home. Once the work was done, they cleaned up and left in a short period of time.
