Clogged Drain Requires Water Removal Services in a Brea, CA Home
A Brea, CA homeowner was in his backyard and realized that one of his planters seemed to be full of water. He looked at the drain in the planter and noticed that it was covered and clogged with foliage and debris. This led to water pooling in the planter instead of being able to drain out of the bottom. Because the planter is located right outside of his living room, he became nervous that the standing water could have caused damage that would require water restoration. To find out what needed to be done, he called the heroes from SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to come and investigate.
We sent our Production Manager, Chris Trejo, to survey the property the same day. By removing a small portion of the living room wall, Chris was able to determine that the water in the planter had begun to seep through interior walls and would need our water removal services to stop the damage from worsening and to prevent mold growth. We started on the project the very next day.
Waldo Roman, our Crew Chief, was in charge of the project and was sure to keep the customer informed of the water restoration process. He spoke with the customer before our crew began water removal services and continued to update him throughout the process. Thankfully, the customer noticed the pooling water right away, and this allowed us to begin work while there was still very little damage to the home. Working on the inside of the house, we removed a small section drywall to access the damage and completely dry out the rest of the wall. It was unfortunate that the water damage was not contained to the outside of the home, but the homeowner’s quick actions prevented the growth of mold.
The customer was thrilled with our quick response and professional water removal services. He was also very thankful for the information we gave him and Waldo’s excellent communication skills. He was grateful we were able to remove all of the water from his wall before it caused any serious damage.
