Copper Pipe Leaks Can Cause Major Water Damage

12/9/2016 (Permalink)

For the majority of American homeowners, copper pipelines are what supply their homes with water. Whether it’s to clean your dishes or to take a bath, copper pipes are oftentimes installed in homes due to their ease of use and resistance to corrosion. However, just like anything else, copper pipes do not last forever. Eventually, these pipes will most likely break, burst or start to leak.

When a copper pipe leak occurs, water damage will soon follow. If this happens, it is important to have a professional water damage remediation company like SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea come out and look at the damage done to the home. We can detect the damage, create a remediation plan and remove all aspects of water damage from your home in no time at all. It will look like there was never any water damage to begin with!

At SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, we’ve recently had a number of homeowners call us after finding water damage caused by a copper line leak. Here are just a few of their stories.

Copper Pipeline Leak Causes Water Damage to Placentia Home

Our call center recently received a call from a homeowner in Placentia who had detected a copper pipe leak in her home. The leak had created water damage in her garage and closet. Not sure how to remedy the problem by herself, she called SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea for help.

After we got off the phone with the homeowner, we immediately sent our Project Manager, Chris Trejo, to the home. He performed an initial inspection to see exactly where and what the water damage had affected. Chris knew that this was the perfect job for SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, so he decided to call the rest of our crew out to the home to begin the remediation process.

Our team split the water damage into two zones: the garage and the closet. Before we got started on the removal, we first removed the homeowner’s personal belongings that were in the rooms to an unaffected area. We then started working on the garage: Our team dried out the concrete and placed a large dehumidifier in the space to remove the water damage. In the closet, we placed another dehumidifier and removed the damaged carpet and carpet pad.

In the end, the homeowner was very pleased with our work. In fact, she filled out a customer survey report and gave us all tens! She also said that the SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea staff was very professional and kept her and her family informed throughout every step of the process. We were happy to help!

Copper Pipeline Leak affects Multiple Rooms in Orange County Home

SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea was called out to Placentia again after another homeowner found water damage that had originated from a copper pipeline leak. After detecting the copper pipeline leak and some water damage in the kitchen, the homeowner knew he needed to call a professional water damage remediation company for assistance. He decided to give SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea a call and we were at his home the very same day.

Our Project Manager was the first to arrive at the home. He took a look around the house to see exactly where the water damage was. He ended up finding water damage in both the kitchen and dining room area. He knew that if our team did not act fast, the water damage had a very good chance of spreading to other areas of the home. That’s when he called the rest of our crew out to get started on the water damage removal process.

We ended up removing the laminate flooring and drywall in both the kitchen and dining room area. We also had to remove some kitchen cabinets. To make sure that both areas were completely dry, we set up one dehumidifier and four air movers in the dining room and three air movers in the kitchen.

The homeowner was very impressed with our end results. He appreciated all of our hard work and attention to detail when removing the water damage from his home. He let us know that if water damage ever affected his home again, he knew exactly who to call: SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

Water damage can be messy, especially when homeowners try to tackle it alone. But it doesn’t have to be that way – if water damage is ruining your home, contact a professional water damage removal company like SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea today!
