A Leaky Refrigerator Water Line Causes Water Damage in a Yorba Linda, CA Home

Our valued customer was referred to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea for our excellent and professional work.  The customer had flooding in her kitchen near her refrigerator and needed someone to come and take a look to assess the problem.  Another concern she had was the presence of a musty smell.  Our crew consists of water damage and mold removal heroes whose main concern is making your home a healthy place to live.

The musty odor the customer smelled was a good sign that mold could be present in her home.  Mold is particularly dangerous to inhale and can cause numerous health issues.  Ensuring the complete removal of mold spores from your home is essential to your health.  When we arrived to inspect her home, she showed us a puddle of water near the refrigerator.  Our Production Manager, Jonathan Arcila, inspected the area and discovered her refrigerator water line had been leaking.  The water had seeped up the walls and caused damage to her kitchen cabinets and shared walls in the kitchen and bathroom.  The SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea crew began to ventilate the damaged area with access holes to avoid complete removal of the drywall.  We also placed zippers in the drying chamber to enable the customer access to her kitchen during our drying process.  She was extremely grateful for this because she did not have a car and needed access to her kitchen to cook her meals.  

The entire drying process did not take very long, and soon the customer had her home in its normal and safe condition once again.  Our water damage expertise and experience allows us to complete our projects with efficiency and precision.  When the project was complete our valued customer stated, “Everyone was great, very nice, very helpful, and sweet.”  She was happy to have peace of mind in her home, no longer worrying about mold or water damage.
