Flood in Brea from a Filter Line Leak

8/7/2014 (Permalink)

When a leak damages your home, the money needed to undo the damage piles up—and very quickly. This is what a resident of Brea faced when a filter line leaked under his kitchen sink.  The leak caused flooding that damaged area rugs in the kitchen, flooded the kitchen tile, and warped the cabinetry.

In order to allow the walls behind the cabinets to fully dry to prevent the growth of unhealthy mold, the cabinet platform underneath the kitchen sink needed to be removed.  SERVPRO, a flood restoration company, understands that restoration projects like these can get expensive.  This is why we did everything we could to salvage everything we possibly could.  For example, when removing the cabinet platform, the SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea crew suspended the granite countertop with support beams in order for it to be re-usable for the new cabinetry, thus saving the customer thousands of dollars. We were certain all areas reached moisture-drying standards before removing drying equipment.  In doing this, we prohibited the growth of mold that could have caused more damage to the property and required even more repairs and a greater expense to the customer.

These savings coupled with the superior customer service offered by the Crew Chief, Waldo Roman, left the customer extremely happy with his experience with SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.  The customer appreciated Waldo’s knowledge of leaks, flooding, and restoration and his willingness to discuss the process of all work being performed before the crew began working.  SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea wants customers to be aware of everything that is going on in their home and to not have any “surprises” when it comes to the work performed or the cost involved.  Waldo was open and honest with the customer, allowing him to feel at ease throughout the cleanup of the flooding in his kitchen.
