Major water damage from a minor problem in Yorba Linda

8/5/2020 (Permalink)

Left shows mold, middle demolition, and the right shows the drier Here we wanted to highlight the damage and the demolition which took place after. The last photo highlights how we like to keep our workspaces clean.

Our customer in Yorba Linda had a water leakage problem coming from the HVHC unit that was improperly installed and caused problems for the client. Our team was then notified and after our SERVPRO team found that they had accidentally placed the pump upside down. This caused drainage overflow from the unit caused damage to the hallways, ceilings, walls and bedroom. Luckily at the time the bedroom was unoccupied. The leak had be ongoing for some time which led the removal of the drywall because it could not be repaired to its original state. Our team then treated the framework of the unit to help restore all the effected wood and parts beyond the drywall. The SERVPRO team also applied anti-microbial to the structure of the building.

The turnaround of this project did not take too long according to the situation. The drying section of the unit took our team about 3 days, and the project was completed within that time frame as well. During our demo work we like to ensure that the units are not getting dirtier than before which leads us to use air scrubbers to help control the air around the project and keep the area as clean as possible. Our team wants to ensure that every person is safe from harm of any chemicals we may use, or dust that may be around because of the demolition work that is being done on the units.

SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea is available 24 hours a day, regardless of the severity of the problem. With services like this provided, why wait? When delaying a problem that is caused by water it greatly increases the chances of more damage being done to the property within just a few hours.
