Neighbor Detects Water Damage Coming from a Placentia Home
Good neighbors are there to help each other out whenever they can. Whether it is watching each other’s children, baking treats for one another or even spotting water damage coming from your home, it is always nice to know that your neighbor is looking out for you.
At SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, we recently had a homeowner call us after her neighbor had noticed water coming out of the garage. That much water leaking from the house looked suspicious, so the neighbor called the homeowner about the leaking water. It turns out the homeowner was out of town, so she came home as soon as she could to figure out what was causing water to leak from her garage.
Upon her arrival, the homeowner discovered that the water was coming from the upstairs bathroom, as her supply line was leaking. She knew that she needed a professional’s help to remediate the water damage in her home, so she called SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.
Project Manager, Jonathan Arcila, made it out to the home first and performed an initial inspection. He determined that the project was definitely something SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea could fix in no time, so he called Crew Chief, Gilbert Julian, and the rest of the team out to the home to start the removal process.
We started off with an asbestos test, which fortunately came back negative. In order to dry the subflooring, we had to remove the ceiling of the garage and the tile in the bathroom. But luckily, we were able to use air movers and dehumidifiers to clean up the rest of the damage.
The homeowner was so thankful to her neighbor and our team for being on the lookout for water damage and taking such great care of her home. We were happy to help!
