Double Pipe Leak Causes Water Damage in Yorba Linda Home

Normally when you think of a pipe leaking and causing water damage to your home, you would expect to find the damage in the kitchen or bathroom, where there are direct pipes. But what most people don’t realize is that plumbing runs through the walls of rooms that don’t have any direct pipes at all, like the living room or family room. This is no surprise for our team at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, as we have seen this dozens of times and know just how to handle it!

We recently received a call to investigate water damage done to a home in Yorba Linda. The homeowner discovered moisture on the walls of her family room and bonus room. She was left extremely confused since the two rooms were not connected. Having no idea where the water damage came from, she knew she needed professional help. Being a past SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea client, she knew just who to call.

Once we received the call, we quickly dispatched Project Manager, Cesar Arcila, to inspect the home. After his inspection, he determined that she not only had one pipe leaking, but two and that it had been going on for a long period of time. Cesar called out Crew Chief, Edwin Ramirez, to come to the home with his team to get things cleaned up and dried out.  

They started by removing the soggy drywall, which then exposed the damaged pipes. They advised the homeowner to have a plumber come out and replace the two pipes that were leaking. Unfortunately, the pipes had been leaking for so long that it had soaked the pad and was seeping up into the carpet, which meant that both would have to be removed. Once the demo was done, we placed down air movers and dehumidifiers to remove the moisture and make sure everything was dry.

This homeowner was just as happy with our services this time as she was the first time she called us. She was so thankful that we were able to take care of her water damage quickly. She told us that she was definitely a SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea customer for life!
