Water Damage Calls for SERVPRO Help in Walnut

When it comes to water damage in your home, we at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea understand that you want us to save as much of your home as possible. We will always do everything in our power to save as much of your home as possible. With that being said, if we believe that leaving some part of your home untouched could mean danger in the future, we would insist on removing it. This is because our first priority is the safety of you, your family and your home.  

However, we don’t always have to remove pieces of your home to get rid of the water damage.  A homeowner in Walnut recently reached out to us after he’d noticed some of the flooring in his kitchen was buckling. He immediately knew he would need a specialized water damage company to come out and help him get the removal completed. A quick search on Yelp told him that he would find the best service at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, so he gave us a call.

Our Project Manager, Uriel Valencia, was the first out to the home. His initial inspection showed that the homeowner was indeed dealing with a slab leak in the kitchen, but thankfully SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea would be able to help. Uriel called our team of technicians to come out and start the work. As this was happening, the homeowner had one request: to please save his granite counters, if possible. We told him we would do everything we could and started the work.

We ended up going in and removing all the lower cabinets as well as some flooring. We also sanded some of the studs underneath the counters to make sure there was no possibility of mold growth in the future. Thankfully, during this process, we were able to float the granite counters, so there was no problem saving them.

The homeowner was so happy! He had spent so much money on his granite counters, so he was glad he would not have to pay to replace them. He loved our work and told us he would certainly be calling us again in the future if he needed any other water damage help!
