While water damage can be caused by natural floods and other occurrences, we oftentimes see homes affected by some sort of water leak in their house. Here are just a few recent stories of water leaks causing havoc to our customers’ homes.

Shower Leak Causes Damage in Anaheim Home

A homeowner recently called our call center after finding water damage in his bathroom. He contacted his plumber for assistance in detecting the leak and repairing it. The leak ended up being in the shower pipe, which resulted in water damage to multiple rooms of the house. Not sure how to clean up the water damage on his own, he asked his plumber for a water damage remediation company referral. Who did he recommend? SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

After talking to the homeowner on the phone, we immediately sent one of our Project Managers out to inspect the damage. His inspection showed that there was damage in the bathroom, kitchen, entryway, living room and dining room. While the damage had spread to lots of different places, he knew that SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea could remediate the damage in no time at all. That’s when he called the rest of our crew out to begin the cleanup process.

Once our team of technicians made their way over to the house, we started the remediation process by removing the damaged drywall in the affected areas. We then placed dehumidifiers and air movers every damaged room, in hopes to dry out the water damage. Fortunately, that worked and no further removal was necessary!

The homeowner was very happy with our work. He especially appreciated that there was little removal required. He let us know that if water damage ever affected his home again, he knew exactly who to call: SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

Pinhole Leak Leaves its Mark in an Orange County Home

Our call center also received a call from a homeowner who’d detected a pinhole leak in her house. She explained that the leak had affected most her home. Not sure how to remediate the damage on her own, she contacted her insurance agent, who then referred her to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

Our Project Manager, Edwin Ramirez, was the first to arrive at the home. Upon his arrival, he performed an initial inspection, in which he detected water damage in the laundry room, garage, office, closet, pantry, hallway and living room. He knew that our team was capable of removing every ounce of water damage from this home, so he contacted the rest of our crew and asked them to make their way over to the home so we could start the removal process.

We began the remediation process by removing some drywall, baseboards, carpet and toe kicks in the affected areas. We then set up multiple dehumidifiers and air movers in all the affected rooms. We were out there for seven days, and by the time we were done, every sign of water damage was completely gone.

The homeowner was very appreciative of our work. She even gave us all tens on her customer survey!

Slab Leak Causes Issues for One Orange County Homeowner

Another homeowner contacted us after finding a slab leak – and water damage – in his kitchen. He knew he couldn’t remove the damage on his own, so he decided to call our call center for help. We were at his house that same day.

Our Project Manager, Gilbert Julian, was the first to arrive at the home. To see exactly what the water damage had affected, he first performed an initial inspection. It looked as the though the kitchen was the only affected space in the home. However, Gilbert knew that the longer the water damage sat there, the further it could spread to other areas of the home. That’s when he contacted the rest of our crew so we could get started on the cleanup process.

When our crew arrived, we first removed the affected drywall. Then, we suspended the granite countertop on the island. To make sure that every ounce of water damage was removed, we set up one large dehumidifier and four air movers.

In the end, we were able to remove any and all signs of water damage from the home. This made the homeowner very happy. In fact, in their customer survey, the homeowner noted how excellent our customer service was. We were happy to help!
