Mold Remediation In an Anaheim Home

This ceiling mold was the tip of the iceberg. Margie Faciana was very happy she called the restoration experts at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/ Brea.

A few weeks ago, we had an opportunity to serve a young couple in Anaheim Hills whose home had been affected by a long term bathroom shower leak where seals had given way.  The leak had led to substantial sub-floor water retention.  Because of the long period of time that things had stayed moist, there was extensive mold growth.

During our initial inspection, we’d identified mold growth in the ceiling, and sub-floor which affected the upstairs bathroom and a downstairs bedroom and extensive work was needed to complete this project.  During the project, we had to demolish all the drywall in the bathroom and bedroom to complete our mold remediation. 

Exposure to mold can be a potential health hazard.  Because of this risk, we encourage our customers not to attempt remediation on their own.  In fact, it’s the health risk involved in mold remediation that requires our trained technicians to wear full  HAZMAT suits, complete with air cannisters to aid their breathing.

We use special anti-microbial sprays and wire brushes to scrub all surfaces where mold has grown.  We safely bag all dirt and debris from the remediation in special plastic bags and take the trash with us when we leave the work site.  While we’re on the job, we are very careful to place floor runners over any surfaces where we’ll be working and we cover your furniture and other household items with plastic sheeting to protect it while the job is in progress.
