Mold Growth in an Irvine Home

For several weeks, our customer had noticed an odd, musty smell in his home that wasn't normally there.  His allergies had been bothering him lately, too.  Finally, after a comment to his MD during his annual physical, his Dr. suggested maybe he ought to have his home tested for mold.

Remembering an earlier experience in a former home, he gave us a call and we came out to do a free consult.

We saw growth in the ceiling in his dining room, and smelled it in his guest bathroom too.  Following up on our suggestion, our customer had his home tested for mold and the results were positive.  See the "Before" images.

With results in hand, our customer called us back to perform the mold remediation.  You can see images from that work in the "After" photo.

Since the customer's home had tile and wood flooring, there was no wet carpeting or padding to contend with.  However, we did have to partially demo a few walls to dry the interior.  

Of course, we also used an antimicrobial solution to completely clean away the actual mold growth.

We dried the affected areas of the home out using air movers and a dehumidifer.  To keep mold from colonizing new portions of the home, we erected barriers and using a HEPA air filter system cleaned the air in the affected rooms to EPA standards.
