Orange Home Gets Mold Remediation

Recently, we were asked to come out to a home in Orange, CA for a mold inspection.  While a lot of our mold work is usually done in the interiors of our customers homes or businesses, there really is no reason mold can't grow in other locations, such as the garage in this case.  All that mold needs to flourish is a moist environment and fiber to digest.  

In the "Before" photos, you can see an ugly dark stain growing on the surface of the home's stucco.  We followed the stain into the garage where we saw more of it growing on the wall near the garage entrance.  

In the "After" photos, you can see where we exposed the wooden wall studs (moisture and food for the mold growth).  Also notice the containment we built around the area in the breach we'd opened up in the wall.  

Our corrective measures included

- Tearing out the wet drywall, cleaning up the debris and bagging everything.

- Sanding the exposed framing

- Applying an anti-microbrial agent to thoroughly remove the mold

- Using a HEPA vacuum to completely scrub the air to EPA standards.
