Insurance Agent’s Home Has Water Damage

Coming home at the end of the day should be relaxing. Work should be left at work and you can sit in your favorite recliner and binge-watch your favorite Netflix show. But what happens when you end up having to bring your work home with you? That’s where the stress comes in. For insurance agents, their job is already stressful. When they come home and find they need to call their own insurance agent, things get tricky.

One homeowner in Tustin recently had this problem. By day he was an insurance agent, and when he came home after a long day at work, he found that a pipe connecting his fridge had leaked all over his kitchen. Thankfully, from his years of experience as an adjuster, he knew exactly who to call: SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. He knew our services were unparalleled when it came to restoration companies.

As soon as we received the call, we sent out our Project Manager, Chris Trejo. Chris came to the scene immediately and started his inspection. As soon as he determined it would be the perfect job for SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, he called out his Crew Chief, Waldo Roman. Waldo led a team of our incredible technicians in the demolition of the home.

The leak had affected the kitchen and their room with their pool table, so we immediately worked to contain the damage. We set up a containment chamber in about 50% of each room. From there, we removed baseboard and drywall in each room and drilled some holes to dry the interior of the walls. We were able to save the wood flooring, per the request of the homeowner, by setting up an air mover on the flooring. We knew it would take a while to dry, but we do everything in our power to follow the wishes of our clients.

The homeowner was so pleased with the work we did on his home. He even loved that we referred him to a great reconstruction company to fix what had to be removed. He knows now, from personal experience, who to refer his clients to when it comes to water damage!
