HVAC Company Breaks Pipe in Attic

8/28/2015 (Permalink)

We’ve heard it before and we’ll probably hear it again: an HVAC company recently went into a home and accidentally broke a pipe in the attic. When this happens, the company knows immediately who to call: SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. We consistently work with these companies so that when accidents happen, we are there to fix it. They choose us because they know we work hard to get the problem taken care of quickly and efficiently.

For this specific instance, the pipe was broken in an attic and was dripping down into the living room underneath. Unfortunately, the worker that broke the pipe didn’t notice the leak immediately, so some damage had occurred by the time they called us. As soon as we got the call, we knew we had to be out there immediately. We sent out our Project Manager, Chris Trejo, to the job to survey the initial damage. He set up the initial drying equipment to keep the water from spreading and then called our team of excellent technicians to the scene.

Our technicians immediately got to work. After seeing that not everything was drying in place, the technicians removed the affected drywall and insulation in the living room. They also placed some more dehumidifiers and some air movers to make sure the area dried in place and that there was no threat of mold in the house.

The HVAC company was very thankful for our work. If not for the help of SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, they might have been dealing with some very happy homeowners. They know our work is consistent and quality, so they always know to call on us in a time of need.

The homeowners themselves were also happy with our work. They knew we only removed what we absolutely had to so the re-construction would not be too costly. They knew they would be calling us if they had a water damage to deal with in the future.
