Supply Line Leak Causes Water Damage in Laundry Room

We recently received a call from a homeowner who found water damage in her laundry room. After taking a look around, she noticed that the water was coming from a supply line leak in the washing machine. The homeowner immediately contacted her insurance company and they referred her to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

Our Project Manager, Chris Trejo, was the first to arrive at the home. Upon arrival, he performed an initial inspection to map out where and what the water damage had specifically affected. Fortunately, the damage was contained to just the laundry room, but Chris knew that it had the ability to spread to other parts of the home if he didn’t move fast. That’s when he called Crew Chief, Jose Melgar, and asked him to create a remediation plan so we could get started on the cleanup process as soon as possible.

With a plan set in place, our team of technicians started the removal process. The hardwood flooring had been most affected, so we decided to detach the washing machine and dryer. In the end, some of the flooring had to be removed along with some drywall. We placed a dehumidifier in the room to let the rest of affected areas dry in place.

The homeowner was so happy her insurance company referred her to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. She was very impressed with our response time and efficiency in our work. We were happy to help!
