Immediate Response Necessary for Water Damage

Timing is everything. With water damage, this rings especially true. Though sometimes water damage is obvious and will flood your entire home, other times it’s more subtle and will leak through your home completely undetected until the damage is already done. These leaks can be much more dangerous. As the leak creeps into your house, it dampens the walls and mold can potentially grow, harming you and your family.

A homeowner contacted us recently about a home they were renting out in Fontana. A drainage system in an outside planter had been improperly installed and over time had started leaking into the living room it was attached to. Neither the homeowners nor tenants noticed it until it was too late. They gave us a call and we immediately sent our Project Manager, Uriel Valencia, to the home to get the inspection done. He knew it would be a job for SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, so after scheduling a time that worked with both the homeowner and the tenant, he called our technicians to take care of the work.

Our technicians removed some drywall and baseboards in the living room and, in doing so, found mold that had been caused by the leak since it had been leaking slowly for so long. They immediately performed a mold remediation and dried out the entire area. From there, the team placed equipment such as dehumidifiers and an air mover to ensure the entirety of the home had safe, clean air for the tenants.

Both the tenants and the homeowner were so happy with our work. They knew we were definitely the best company for the job and promised us they would absolutely be calling again if they found any water or mold damage in any of their other rentable homes.
