Tile Flooring Needs Water Damage Services After Leak

10/7/2015 (Permalink)

When it comes to pipe leaks, they can range anywhere from just a small leak underneath a sink to flooding an entire house. No matter the size of the flood, SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea is here to help. With our work, we do everything in our power to save as much of your home as possible. The more we have to remove, the more you end up having to repair, and we want to make things as easy as possible for you. We only remove drywall or flooring if we have tried to dry it in place and it is still saturated.

One homeowner in Yorba Linda used our services recently to dry out some of his house. He found the tile in his dining room was wet and was unsure where the leak had come from. He called a plumber who identified the leak as a pipe leak in the wall, but when the plumber saw the water damage he knew it was something that would have to be taken care of by professionals. He suggested the homeowner call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

We received the call and immediately dispatched our Project Manager, Chris Trejo. Chris arrived at the home and performed an inspection of the water damage. He found there was water in the flooring and walls in the dining room, entryway, kitchen and living room. The homeowner expressed his desire to save as much of the tile as possible, as it had been expensive and unique. We promised him we would do whatever we could!

We started the clean up by setting up dehumidifiers to dry out the tile. From there, we went into the kitchen and tried to dry the cabinets in place. They were not drying from traditional techniques, so we decided to do something a little unique. We went to the opposite side of the wall and cut some drywall pockets so we could dry the cabinets from behind. It worked!

Aside from the small bits of drywall we removed, we were able to save the cabinets and all the tile flooring. The homeowner was so happy! He couldn’t believe how great of a job we did and how much we were able to save. He told us we had made a customer for life.
