SERVPRO Saves Mission Viejo Home with No Removal

Sometimes a pipe can burst and flood an entire home. The damage can be extensive and the insurance company can be uncooperative. It seems like no matter what happens, nothing falls into place and everything ends up a mess. It all depends on the situation, though. There are other times where the entire water damage situation falls into place without a hitch: the damage will be minimal, the insurance company will cover it, and there will be little or no removal that needs to be repaired. One homeowner in Mission Viejo recently noticed moisture on the walls and floors of their kitchen. They didn’t know exactly where it came from, so they called a plumber to see what happened. The plumber found the burst pipe, but recommended they have a professional come out to look at the water damage. They recommended SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

We received the call and immediately sent out our Project Manager, Cesar Arcila, to the home. He performed the initial inspection and informed the homeowner that we would do everything possible to save their home. Since the moisture was in the walls, we feared there might be mold as well, but thankfully we did not find any. He called our technicians to get started immediately.

We started by setting up equipment in the kitchen to see if anything could be dried in place without having to remove any unnecessary drywall or flooring. Thankfully, the walls and floors responded immediately! We left the equipment there for a couple days to make sure everything was completely dried. Everything was able to dry in place with the help of our professional equipment, and the insurance company covered it all.

Though water damage can be stressful, we love the stories like these where the homeowner gets the best end of the deal. No removal means no construction. The homeowner was so happy with our work! They promised to call us again immediately if they noticed any other damage.
