Out of Town Homeowners Deal with Water Damage

There’s never a good time for water damage, but there are bad times and then there are worse times. Arguably one of the worst times for water damage to happen to a home is when you are out of town. When there is no one there to catch the water damage as it happens, the water spreads and wreaks havoc on the home. Not only that, but the longer the water damage sits, the higher the risk of mildew and mold, which then becomes a whole new issue. Safety becomes a concern and so much more work goes into the water damage removal.

Some homeowners in Lake Elsinore recently contacted us about water damage that occurred in their home when they were out of town. The pipe to their washing machine broke and left the home covered in water. When they returned and found the wet carpet, they knew they needed someone to fix the problem. They found SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea online and knew they would be the best people for the job.

We immediately sent out our Project Manager, Felipe Saldana, to the home to check out the extent of the damage. The water had leaked from the laundry room to the hallway and the bathroom. He called out our team of brilliant technicians to start the work, and placed equipment to begin the initial drying session.

The team got to work and checked the home for mold. Thankfully, the home was free of mold. All we ended up having to remove was padding in the hallway and drywall in the laundry room. Everything else was dried in place!

The homeowners were so happy with the work that we did for them. Though the situation was unfortunate with them having been out of town for the initial break, they knew that we did everything in our power to ensure the safety of their home.
