Struggle to Get Insurance Approval in Eastvale

7/15/2015 (Permalink)

We always root for our clients, and want to make sure their insurance covers as much as possible. Having water damage in your home is hard enough, but having to pay for it all out of pocket? No one wants that. So when it comes to insurance agents, we do everything we can to come to bat for our clients. Even if that means lowering our prices so our services are completely affordable for whatever the client needs.

One morning, a homeowner in Eastvale found the wood floors in their dining and family room were wet and starting to buckle. They didn’t know what to do, so they called a plumber. The plumber came out to the home and found a small pinhole leak that was causing a lot of trouble. He fixed the leak, but told them they would need a professional restoration company to take a look at the damage that had been caused.

Before calling us, they called their insurance company to see what would be covered. They were informed that everything would be covered as long as there was no demolition. The insurance company then told the homeowner to call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to get the job done.

They gave us a call and we sent out our Production Manager, Edgar Orozco, to the scene to do the initial inspection. He set up some drying equipment and called out our expert team of technicians to get the work done. We started out trying to dry everything we could, which included removing the toe kicks on some of the cabinets for ventilation.

Unfortunately, some of the wood flooring was not drying. The owner did not want us to remove it because of insurance, but we had to inform them that the glue was wet and would come loose if left. We knew we would have to do some removal. We worked with the homeowner and the insurance company to come up with a reasonable price.

The homeowner was so happy with the work we did. They knew we did everything we could to save the home, and when we couldn’t, we put in so much effort to make sure the job was affordable. They promised to give us a call again if they needed work!
