SERVPRO Works to Save Yorba Linda Home

6/22/2015 (Permalink)

When it comes to water damage, the location of the pipe is everything. If the pipe breaks in a wall, it completely depends on how many rooms share that wall. If the wall isn’t shared by any other room, the cleanup could be quick and easy. If it is shared by two rooms and another floor, the damage can be more than anyone would want. It can leak into all the adjoining rooms, the floor below, and everything in between.

One home in Yorba Linda experienced an unfortunate situation. A pipe burst in a wall in an upstairs bathroom, but the wall was shared with the master bedroom. From there, the water leaked into the master bathroom as well, and then leaked through the floor into the kitchen and laundry room downstairs.

When the homeowners saw the flood, they immediately called a plumber. The plumber came out and was able to fix the leak, but suggested the homeowners call a professional restoration company to take care of the water damage. A quick search on Google prompted the homeowners to call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

As soon as we received the call, we sent out our Production Manager, Chris Trejo, to the site. He contained the damage, but knew he would have to call his technicians to work on the home. As soon as they got there, we set to work. We had to remove drywall in all the rooms, but were able to dry the laminate flooring in the laundry room. Unfortunately, the tile in the originating upstairs bathroom was too wet to dry in place. Though we did everything we could to save it, we had to remove it in the end.

Even still, the homeowner was so happy with our work. Due to the unfortunate location of the pipe leak, the damage was significant, and the homeowners knew it could have been much worse. They told us we had just created a lifetime customer in them!
