Toilet Leak Ruins Pico Rivera Home

6/8/2015 (Permalink)

Bathrooms can be tricky places when it comes to piping. Between the sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, and everything in between, there is a lot of piping happening in a bathroom. It seems like only a matter of time until one will burst! Keeping up with maintenance is imperative when it comes to bathroom pipes, otherwise you could have a serious water damage problem on your hands!

It’s easy for pipes, especially in the bathroom, to be installed improperly and lead to leaks. Or even if the pipe is installed correctly, it can get small pinhole leaks from wear and tear, which often leads to an even bigger leak. There are many ways for a bathroom pipe to fail, so make sure your bathroom pipes are always properly maintained.

One Friday morning, we received a call from a homeowner in Pico Rivera that was complaining of water damage. She woke up one morning to find that the carpet in the closet was wet, and she was unsure where it was coming from. She called a plumber first, who was out at her house and found that the source of the leak was in the bathroom behind a toilet. Though the plumber was working to fix the problem, he recommended the homeowner call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.

When we received the call, we sent out our first responder, Edgar Orozco to the home to check out the damage. When he saw it was a case where SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea could help, he called out a team of technicians to start the work. We removed some tile in the bathroom as well as plywood in the hallway. We dried the carpet in place in the closet.

The homeowner was so happy with the work we were able to do. She loved that we made sure the home was dry and completely safe from mold before we left. She assured us she would be giving us a call again if the need arose!
