Difficult Hours to Fix Bathroom Pipe Leak

5/6/2015 (Permalink)

Water damage is a timely emergency. When a pipe leaks or a water main breaks, it is imperative that we are called immediately. We do our best to make sure we are at the home in a matter of hours, because we know if water damage sits for too long, mold has the potential to grow. With mold growth can come serious health problems, so we want to extract the water right away. Additionally, the quicker we get to clean it up, the less time it spends ruining the walls and floors of the home.

Sometimes, however, jobs get in the way. Though our first response may be quick, we work with each home and family individually to make appointments. Jobs often mean we are not able to get to cleanup as fast, but we do what we can.

For one home in Yorba Linda, both the mother and the daughter that lived there worked odd hours. The mother was a nurse, sometimes working all through the night, and the daughter worked in retail. When they found a pipe leak under the sink in their bathroom, they knew the water damage experts would have to come in immediately.

They gave us a call and we were out there that same day. Our Production Manager, Chris Trejo, was the first on the scene. He found the pipe leak had affected both the bathroom and the hallway. On the bathroom floor was a tile that matched the backsplash of the walls, and the homeowners really hoped we could save it all.

We ended up scheduling most of the appointments through the daughter and working when she was home after work so the mother could sleep through the day. Though scheduling was sometimes difficult, we worked with the homeowners to get in and dry the bathroom. Thankfully, everything was saved! The plumber had to remove a section under the sink to fix the pipe, but there was no removal of the tile.

The homeowner was thankful we were able to stay away from removing the tile on the floor and bathroom. They loved our quick work and promised to use our services again if necessary!
