Pipe Burst Leads to Immediate Water Extraction

4/24/2015 (Permalink)

All water damage is timely, but some cases are more pressing than others. We make sure to get to our properties as soon as possible—after hours, if necessary—but sometimes water damage can wait. If, for example, a sink overflows, it is not going to be as pressing as if there are three inches of standing water in a home. One is inconvenient for sure, but the other makes the home unlivable.

For one home in Newport Coast, the unfortunate latter was the case. A pipe burst in the bathroom and flooded quite a bit of the home. The homeowner immediately turned off the water and called a plumber, but the plumber knew he would not be able to get much work done until the flooding had been removed.

The homeowner called his insurance agent, who referred them to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea. When we received their call, we knew it was a pressing matter. We went out there that very same day to start as much work as possible.

Our Production Manager, Edgar Orozco, was the first on the scene. He checked out the damage that the pipe had left and knew that SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea had the best expertise for the job. He called out our Crew Chief, Jose Paramo, along with a team of expert technicians to start the water removal. After the initial removal of the water, we had to remove carpet, baseboards, and drywall in the bathroom.

Despite all the damage, the homeowner was thrilled with the work we were able to provide. She said all of our employees were extremely professional and great to work with. She assured us that, though she hoped she would never have to call again, she would be calling us if the need arose!
