Orange, CA Slab Leak Requires Quick Response

3/30/2015 (Permalink)

Sometimes Friday the 13th can creep by without incident, while other times it comes with a flurry of unfortunate events. This past unlucky day, one homeowner had to deal with a slab leak that affected a good portion of the kitchen and laundry room in the home.

The homeowner first noticed the leak when they found water on their hardwood flooring in the kitchen. They called a plumber to investigate. Upon inspection, the plumber discovered that a slab leak was leaking water up from their foundation. The plumber sent the homeowner straight to SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, knowing we are the best in the business when it comes to water damage and flood damage removal.

We received the call around one in the afternoon and our First Responder, Cesar Arcila, was able to make it out to the home the same day. His inspection told him that he needed to start the drying and demolition that same day. He called up our Production Manager, Jose Paramo, to start immediately.

We had to remove some drywall and flooring in the two rooms, but saved what we could. Unfortunately, the homeowner had a very high deductible for their insurance so they knew they would need to be a self-paying customer. We worked to give him a self-pay quote that was hopefully as manageable as possible for him.

Though he disliked the issues he had with his insurance company, the homeowner was happy with the services we were able to provide. He knew he would not have to worry about any further mold damage as a result of the water damage, as he trusted that we get the job done properly the first time. He appreciated our quick and efficient work and promised to give us a call again if he had another unlucky Friday the 13th!
