Repeat Customer Calls for Second Pipe Leak

What is worse than one pipe leak? A second pipe leak—in the exact same spot as the first. Poor plumbing often leads to serious problems in a home. It can be frustrating as a homeowner when you have paid a professional to fix something that keeps breaking over and over again. If it happens in an owner/tenant situation, it is even worse.

For one Aliso Viejo tenant, this was exactly the case. Last year, there was a pipe burst in the wall of a home they were renting out. The leak lead to removal of drywall and hardwood floors, but they thought the pipe had been fixed. At the time, they had called SERVPRO of Yorba/Linda Brea to do the flood damage removal in the home.

Unfortunately, the exact same pipe burst again. The only benefit was that this time, the tenant knew to call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to get the job done quickly. When we received the call, we went out immediately. We set up some equipment to make sure the damage was not increased before we started our work.

The owner was having troubles getting a response from her insurance and could not give us the green light until she had that worked out. This took a total of four days. We spent these four days consistently monitoring the flood damage to ensure it either stayed the same or got better until we could start.

When we received word we could start removal, our Production Manager Cesar Arcila was on the case. We worked with the schedules of both the tenants and the owner to make sure we removed the damage as quickly as possible.

Both the tenants and the owner were pleased that we cared so much about their wall that we helped monitor the damage while we waited for the insurance company. Though they were already a repeat customer, they promised to call if something were to happen a third time!
