A Leaky Dishwasher Requires Water Extraction in a Yorba Linda, CA Home

A Yorba Linda homeowner was running her dishwasher one evening, and about 20 minutes after she had turned it on, noticed the sound of an abnormal amount of splashing coming from the unit.  She returned to her kitchen to determine the source of the splashing and was surprised to find water pouring out from underneath her dishwasher.  Upon the recommendation of a friend, she decided to call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea.  Our expertise in water extraction made us the best company for the job.

We started by sending out our Production Manager, Jonathan Arcila, to the home to inspect the customer’s kitchen.  He determined that water extraction was needed right away to prevent any further damage and prevent mold from forming.  We then sent our Crew Chief, Jose Melgar, and his team of experienced professionals to the home to begin the water extraction.  Jose kept in close contact with the customer to ensure she knew what was going on in her home and to be sure she was comfortable with the water extraction process.  

Thankfully, our quick response time to the customer’s call allowed us to complete the water extraction before any serious damage had occurred.  The damage was minimal, and we were able to dry out the kitchen with large fans.  Drying the area completely is important to stop the growth of mold.  In this case, we were in time to prevent mold from growing at all, but damp areas breed mold and need to be dried immediately.
