A Clogged Toilet Necessitates Water Damage Restoration in a Yorba Linda Home

After coming home one evening, a Yorba Linda homeowner discovered that her toilet was overflowing onto the bathroom floor.  She had been out of the house all day and was unsure how long the toilet had been pouring water onto the floor.  Because she was well aware of the health hazards that a sewage backup can cause, she became very worried about her health and the health of her family.  She immediately called a plumber to come and check out the problem.

The plumber was able to fix the leak and stop the toilet from continuing to overflow.  However, he was concerned about the water damage that the leak caused and suggested the homeowner call a water damage restoration company to come out and completely dry out and sanitize the area.  She called the heroes at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to come and investigate the damage and see what needed to be done.  

We sent our Production Manager, Jonathan Arcila, to the property to examine the water damage.  He determined that the water damage was extensive and water damage restoration was required as soon as possible.  Because the damage was caused by a sewage leak, our crew first had to remove any porous materials that were affected by the sewage backup. Once everything was removed, cleaned, and disinfected, we brought in air scrubbers to rid the air of any harmful contaminants that could have been released during the leak. Once we were sure the air had been purified, we set up large fans to dry out the affected area and ensure all water had been completely dried.  

Our customer was very happy with our work.  She was grateful that we sectioned off only the affected areas of the home so that she had full access to all other areas, and she appreciated the open communication line she had with our Crew Chief, Waldo Roman.  He kept her informed of everything we were doing to be sure she was comfortable with all of our work.  Overall, the customer was extremely satisfied with our level of professionalism and reliable work.
