A Slab Leak Causes Water Damage in a Yorba Linda, CA Home

Overnight, a Yorba Linda homeowner experienced a slab leak in his home. He woke up in the morning to find a large pool of water on his hardwood floors in his kitchen. He and his wife immediately called their homeowner’s insurance to see what they could do for them and how they should go about fixing the problem. The insurance company recommended that they get a plumber out to the house as soon as possible to determine where the leak was coming from and to fix the problem. They also recommended that the homeowners call SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea to assess and restore the water damage caused to their kitchen.  

The plumber determined the water damage had been caused by a slab leak and was able to fix the leak. We then arrived, and our Production Manager, Chris Trejo, surveyed the water damage and had a crew ready to begin the water damage restoration and water removal services immediately.  While we were working in their home, the homeowners decided to stay in a hotel until our work was complete.  This was easiest for them considering they had small children and their kitchen was completely unusable.  This put stress and pressure on our customer, but we were able to do everything we could to help out and relieve some of the stress.  

Luckily, the homeowner acted quickly in calling us to his home.  We were there before any mold growth had begun, allowing us to only perform water damage restoration and saving the customer a lot of time and money by not having to perform mold remediation as well.  Acting quickly is important, especially with small children living in the home, because mold can be particularly dangerous to them.  Our level of expertise and experience allowed us to get the customer back into his home quickly, and he could not have been happier with our service and work.
