Fridge Failure Leads to Water Damage

Kitchens have so many appliances, it seems like only a matter of time before one of them ends up leaking, breaking or failing completely. When appliances do fail, oftentimes water damage is the first symptom. This is where we come in. At SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea, we know how to handle your water damage in the safest way possible, while still keeping removal to a minimum. A homeowner in Yorba Linda called us recently looking for help. She’d noticed some of the flooring in her kitchen was consistently wet, and the source of the water seemed to be coming from her refrigerator. She’d already called out a handyman, who had fixed the leak in the refrigerator but told her she would need a professional water damage company to come out to the home and fix the rest of the damage. With this advice, she called her insurance agent and asked for a referral. Our name was the first to come up.

Once the call came through, we immediately dispatched our Project Manager, Jonathan Arcila, to the home. Jonathan found that in addition to the kitchen, the hallway had also been affected. He knew it would be a quick and easy job for us at SERVPRO of Yorba Linda/Brea! He called our Crew Chief to come to the home and lead our technicians in the removal. 

Our technicians ended up going in and extracting all the water in both the kitchen and hallway. From there, we felt that we would be able to dry the home out completely without any removal, so we set up our equipment and looked to see if everything would dry in place. Sure enough, everything immediately responded to our equipment! This meant we did not have to remove anything, and all the tile and drywall was able to be saved.

The homeowner was thrilled! She knew the damage could have been so much worse if we had not responded so quickly and taken immediate action. She told us that she would be telling all her friends about us!
